Download "Guidelines - Written Pieces" as Word Document (ZIP, 24K)

  1. We prefer to receive your articles via email as a Microsoft Word attachment (.doc). We will also accept documents saved in WordPerfect (.wpd) or as text files (.rtf or .txt).
  2. We greatly appreciate submissions that are typewritten, double-spaced, with one-inch margins; if submitting a hard copy, please print it on letter-quality paper.

(See guidelines for submitting an excerpt from a previously published source, if applicable.)

  3. Prose: should not exceed 5,000 words; most published pieces will contain fewer than 2,500 words.
Poetry: submissions are limited to 6 poems.
  4. Include the author's name and the title on each page.
  5. Include the author's name, address, phone number and email address, if available, on the last page of the submission or in your email.
  6. PLEASE use the spell-check feature in your word processor before submitting a document, and proofread it carefully. Written pieces that contain excessive typos or misspellings may be exempt from consideration.
  7. Anonymity: If due to the very personal nature of a piece you prefer that your name remain unpublished, we will respect your request, but you still must include name and address information with your submission.
  8. Email or mail to Evolving Editions. (See related guidelines).
